Over the ten years of running my film festival, SF3, Amélie is hands down one of the most talented filmmakers, writers, and actors I have ever seen on the big screen.
Her work is always a standout, and this is evident in the numerous awards over the years that my judging panel have awarded her.
Her films are superbly written, always mature beyond her years and diverse in genre, story, and approach, completely showcasing her talent as an artist. So much so, that I had Amélie work with me at SF3 in 2024 (and 2025 and 2026) to edit social videos for our channels. She was wonderful to work with: she produced beautiful content, edited smartly for our audience, and was (and is) so lovely to work with.
I cannot say enough good things about Amélie as a person and as an artist, and I can’t wait to see where her career takes her.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Amelie Kordina-Barker as her coach at Young Actors Assembly over multiple years. Amelie was a student in our Screen Actor + Filmmaker Annual Program in 2022 and 2023, and continued her training in our Ultimate Actors Experience program in 2024 and 2025.
During her time with us, Amelie consistently stood out for her ambition, curiosity, and intelligence. She is deeply engaged in the craft, not only as an actor but as a storyteller. She regularly stepped beyond her role as a student actor, choosing to shadow filmmakers during our annual production module and actively seeking out opportunities to learn from industry professionals.
What impressed me most about Amelie is her initiative and drive. She has a genuine hunger to understand the full scope of the filmmaking process, and this shows in her growing skill set, particularly in editing and story development. She approaches her work with focus and determination, always looking for ways to elevate the material and her own contribution to it.
Amelie is also highly collaborative. She works well within a team, listens, contributes thoughtfully, and brings a positive, solution-focused energy into the room. She is someone others enjoy working with, which is an invaluable quality in this industry. A standout achievement during her time with us was winning a scriptwriting competition, with her script selected to be produced as a short film. This is a strong reflection of both her creative voice and her commitment to storytelling.
I would confidently recommend Amelie for opportunities in acting, filmmaking, and creative development. She is a motivated, capable young creative with a clear passion for the industry and the work ethic to match.
I had the privilege of working with Amelie on two productions: The Culling, where I served as Director, and later on my own film Fat Mouth.
On The Culling, Amelie took on multiple responsibilities, including Writer, Lead Actress, Production Assistant and Child Wrangler. Even while balancing these diverse roles, she consistently demonstrated professionalism, initiative, and a remarkable ability to support both the creative and practical needs of the production. Her calm presence, positive attitude, and strong communication skills contributed significantly to maintaining a productive and collaborative environment on set.
Having witnessed her capabilities on The Culling, I specifically invited Amelie to join the team on Fat Mouth as a Production Assistant. She quickly integrated into a professional crew environment, working confidently alongside team members with considerably more industry experience. Amelie showed excellent organisational skills, reliability, adaptability, and a willingness to take on any task required to keep production running smoothly.
What sets Amelie apart is not only her work ethic and competence, but also her ability to foster positive working relationships. She brings energy, enthusiasm, and maturity to every project, and consistently approaches challenges with intelligence and good judgement. Her creative instincts, combined with a practical understanding of production, make her a valuable asset in both development and on-set environments.
I have no hesitation in recommending Amelie for roles within the film industry. I am confident she will continue to grow into an outstanding filmmaker and collaborator, and any production team would benefit from her dedication, versatility, and professionalism.

I have had the pleasure of working with Amelie on several productions, including The Culling, Posted, and later Mazuzah Man, where I invited her to join the team after seeing the contribution she made on previous projects.
One of Amelie’s greatest strengths is her willingness to get involved wherever she is needed. On Mazuzah Man she worked across multiple areas of production, assisting the art department, supporting the crew as a runner, and even helping the makeup team when required. Whether she was organising practical tasks, preparing set pieces, running equipment between locations, or helping solve last-minute problems, she approached every job with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Film sets can be demanding environments, but Amelie has a calm and positive attitude that makes her a pleasure to work with. She is dependable, quick to learn, and never afraid to take on something new. What impressed me most was her initiative—she doesn’t wait to be told what needs doing, she pays attention, anticipates what is needed, and gets it done.
Beyond her strong work ethic, Amelie brings a genuine love of filmmaking to every production. She contributes positively to the team environment and works well with people at every level of a crew. These qualities, combined with her versatility and determination, make her a valuable asset on set.
I would gladly work with Amelie again and have no hesitation recommending her for future opportunities within the film and television industry.
