About me.
The question I’ve been asked most throughout my life is simple:
Why do you create?
For a long time, I was unable to answer honestly because I didn’t fully understand it myself. I loved film for its visual beauty, but I hadn’t yet realised that visuals only matter when they work in conversation with story.
That changed the night I watched Train Dreams. I realised that the films that stay with us aren’t always the most action-packed; they are the ones that create a balance between image and meaning, leaving us feeling something long after the credits roll.
My name is Amélie, and I’m an Australian student and emerging filmmaker who wants audiences to leave with more questions than answers, and with a greater curiosity about the world around them.
I began creating short films at the age of nine after receiving my first iPad, and since then I’ve explored storytelling through editing, photography, and sound. I find my greatest inspiration behind the camera, collaborating with others and watching ideas evolve into finished pieces.
What I love most about filmmaking is the process itself: taking an idea and shaping it into something meaningful, entertaining, and visually engaging.
Above all, I create because I want to tell stories that make people pause, think, and see the world a little differently.
